No. Khaya AI is built by GhanaNLP. SomaMe built the Khaya Demo app that calls its public API.

Is Khaya Demo a supported product?

It is an experiment. It is available on Google Play, but it is not a commercial product and has no service commitments.

What is real today

The app is published on Google Play under SomaMe App Ltd.
The speech itself comes from Khaya AI, the translation and speech platform built by GhanaNLP — a separate organisation. SomaMe did not create Khaya AI, its models or its language data.
Khaya Demo is an integration experiment, not a commercial SomaMe product.

Why it exists

The people SomaMe’s products serve do not all prefer to read English on a screen. Khaya Demo is a small, public way of exploring a different interface: software that speaks Ghanaian languages back to its user, built on an existing African-language AI platform rather than a new model of our own.

Where it fits

Khaya Demo sits alongside our other Labs work on applied AI. No Khaya features are currently part of Asori, and we make no claims about its usage beyond its public listing.
