The case study
Context
Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi is the General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost. His ministry spans preaching, writing and a travelling itinerary across the Church’s congregations.
The challenge
A ministry that travels constantly needs a platform its team can keep current without a developer: new sermons, upcoming visits, articles and resources — with the site’s structure itself editable, and every change traceable.
What we built
- A sermons library with search, categories, audio and video players and sharing.
- An itinerary of ministry engagements and events, with calendar export.
- Articles, a media gallery organised into albums with a lightbox, and downloadable resources.
- Contact and newsletter forms with rate limiting.
- A content-management system with 17 sections — including navigation, homepage layout, a page-layout editor, calendar, inbox, subscribers, notifications, team accounts, audit log and settings — with revision history and scheduled publishing.
- Email notifications with a queue, event reminders and a suppression list.
- Invite-only administration with optional two-factor sign-in.
Engineering scope
Next.js 16 and React 19 on Supabase: 32 tables across 33 migrations, four scheduled background functions and storage for media.
Structured data for the person, articles, events and breadcrumbs; a health check, cache revalidation and structured error logging for operations.
Design decisions
- The site’s structure is content: navigation, homepage sections and page layouts are edited in the CMS.
- Every change leaves a trail: revision history and an audit log.
- The itinerary is the heartbeat: events carry reminders and export to people’s own calendars.
The delivered system
A complete platform and CMS, built for the General Secretary’s office. Publication is managed by the office.
